~ The Younger Dryas (YD) impact hypothesis ~
The Younger Dryas (YD) impact hypothesis is a recent theory that suggests that a cometary or meteoritic body or bodies hit and/or exploded over North America 12,900 years ago, causing the YD climate episode, extinction of Pleistocene megafauna, demise of the Clovis archeological culture, and a range of other effects.
I was listening to a podcast with Randall Carlson and David Mathiesen and while Carlson was taking about the YD impact, he said some interesting things about trauma that I would like to share and for what it's worth, 12,900 years is almost exactly half the time it takes for the Precession of the Equinoxes to complete a cycle.
"Our challenge and we have to understand those events that were extraordinary, almost inexplicable events that happened over a period of just a couple of thousand years of the Younger Dryas that completely altered planetary history. So by inference had to have altered human history and in fact what we realize now is that the human population was probably decimated to very low numbers and then had to recover. The genetic evidence is now coming out for a pattern of survivors that are widely dispersed over the planet. In looking at this whole cosmic framework and how these events have played out through the history of our planet is key to understanding our own past. Because, I think could emerge from this is the realization that we're carrying some kind of a genetic trauma in our memories and until we work this out and come to terms and recover those memories that have been suppressed, we're not going to be able to affect the kind of universal healing that's required"- Carlson
"This being of wisdom arises out from the spit of all the gods...the myths can be shown to be about healing trauma and my focus on these ancient stories are talking about, you are separated from yourself so deeply that you even suppress the knowledge of that separation and here are some dramatizations to point you towards recovery of that because when you put that into harmony you heal. The same psychological patters happen throughout society and the gods are all acting out those same types of internal conflicts that we've got going on."- Mathiesn
Carlson then goes off into a tangent about the Holy Grail that relates to the topic:
"Part of this whole historical phenomena of the late 12th and early 13th Centuries, that saw the building of the great gothic cathedrals, the first schools of Kabbalah, the emergence of the Tarot deck, the Templars, the Cathars, the rise of Freemasonry, and all the amazing architecture that was happening around the planet during this time. All within a short time...a century and a half there was this incredible creative ferment. I think we're just in the infancy of understanding lost history, this deep history. We have to understand the destruction and well as the creative aspects. You see the Holy Grail in the stories is not only the thing that creates the wasteland, it's also the thing that heals the wasteland. So, the grail in one of this incarnations absolutely is a comet. The comet and the role that it has played in our ancient history.. well the comet that causes the whole hierarchical kinds of destruction that take place geomagnetic field incursion, volcanism, major changes in climate, major changes in the distribution of biota around the planet. The comet is the thing that can trigger all of that." - Carlson
The Holy Grail hypothesis that Carlson is talking about the destruction and the creativity that spawned just after the so called comet hit earth is helping to prove my point about the Traumatic Secret and the superhuman abilities/altered consciousness that will often manifest precisely in and around the disabled/dying/sick body. Another incredibly creative period of human history to say the least.
If YD hypothesis is correct, then we could all be carrying some kind genetic trauma and how could we begin to address this trauma if we aren't consciously aware of it? Maybe we are aware unconsciously aware and that has led to many of the myths and stories we are familiar. Further, if what Mathiesn says is accurate, it would be easy to conclude that the survivors would have started new civilizations with new myths, allegories, etc. - James Stabler

His recent book, "Myth and Trauma" explores ancient wisdom of the world's myths as it applies to the modern world; the separation of who we are. Myth and Trauma explores the evidence which shows that the world's ancient myths are built on a foundation of celestial metaphor in which characters and events correspond to specific constellations and heavenly cycles, a system which actually underlies the ancient myths of cultures around the globe, on every inhabited continent and island -- and a system which appears to have been designed to impart profound truths we need in our own lives, even in this present day, right where we are.
